we are makers.

Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening!  (Depending on where you're reading from).  I wrote this post shortly after Thanksgiving, when there was lots on my mind.  Have a read!

--------------------

Thanksgiving has come and gone, but the season of being thankful and living with a grateful heart will last well through the end of the year.  I've been thinking so much lately about what I am truly grateful for.  There really are so many of the typical things: my husband and marriage, our three furry children that brighten tough days, good food, a warm welcoming home, and lots of extended family and friends.  There really is so much to be thankful for.  But what about living with a grateful heart?  What is one (of the many) thing(s) I am so deeply grateful for, with my whole heart?  That answer would have to be MY CRAFT.  Being a maker, a creator, a crafter of paper, a keeper of memories.  What began as a simple hobby nearly a decage ago has evolved into a deep passion, understanding, and appreciation.  My craft has taken me on fun adventures, introduced me to amazing artists, and formed strong bonds with other makers and memory keepers. It's so amazing really, to be a part of this huge creative world that's out there, both online and offline, full of brilliant, amazing, creative, inspiring, motivated makers.  I love this so much!

Since I could go on forever and ever about this subject, I think this is a good place to stop.  For Thanksgiving, I sent a few small happy mail packages to a few of my wonderful, creative friends, Heather S., Mandi, and Heather A.  Three friends I met online, through my craft, but have created amazing friendships with.  These three ladies create amazing beautiful things that make people happy.  A few Freckled Fawn embellishments, and a Happy Turkey Day card is what I sent them, with a simple, sweet note that I'm grateful for them.

This year was a slow year for creating.  I went through a long period of feeling burned out and almost wanting to stop making things altogether.  (I talked about this a bit in one of my last posts).  But I'm so excited and happy to feel my creativity and motivation back at an all-time high, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for me!

xoxo

PS: In spirit of the season of being grateful, and giving back, I'll be giving away a Freckled Fawn Oh Deer Me kit to a lucky reader in a few weeks.  Stay tuned!
