The other morning, I read this post by Danielle at Sometimes Sweet (go check out her blog. She's lovely!) and it gave me a renewed rush of motivation. Lately, I have been feeling the need to document my life and stories more. I've been feeling a longing to write or journal anything that comes to my mind. Ofter, there is so much I want to share on my blog. It is like a clean slate, my little piece of the internet, where I can share anything I want. But sometimes, I feel silly. Lots of times, I think "Who wants to read this anyhow? or "What I have to say really isn't anything new." Or, as Danielle describes it: So many times that cursor is blinking and you feel blank. YES!
But I've come to the realization that that's just not true. I do have a unique voice. And my stories are worth telling! AND isn't the #1 rule of blogging to write for yourself first? HECK YEAH IT IS! I also very much love Ali Edwards' blog. She is an amazing storyteller and such an inspiration! She uses her blog to remember the details of her stories, for documentation later. This is something I have been wanting to do for so long now.
So as Ali said, I'm going to treat my blog like a digital visual scrapbook and document details and highs and lows. They will have a little home here until they find their way into a book later. I'm so absolutely excited for this and excited to see how this helps me document my memories. LET'S DO THIS!
