One of my unwritten goals for 2015 is to use my big camera more. Don't get me wrong, I love the convenience of having a nice camera on my mobile (I have a 8 megapixel on my Note II) and it's so easy to grab it for a quick pic. But I find myself easily tiring of using my cell phone as the main source for photos. That and one of my goals for several years now is to learn my Nikon back and front.
Sooo, with that being said, I'd like to start sharing photos here on my blog, taken with my Nikon, and a tiny bit of story behind them. It may be weekly, monthly, or whenever. I'd like to challenge myself weekly to hold myself accountable, so hopefully I'll stick to that!
This past weekend, the Midwest was hit by Winter Storm Linus (like the Peanuts character. As Alex said: Linus has a blanket and we got hit with a "blanket" of snow). The final total is registering at about 17 inches. Whew!! It's been crazy. I can tell you that even though our doggie likes snow, this is waaay too much for even her! (She got stuck in big snow piles several times, which we told her not to go into, and then had to dig her out.... yeah.....)
We were supposed to go to a Super Bowl party last night at a friend's house, but cancelled because the weather just got worse and worse. These photos were taken after our first round of snow (before Linus technically even started). I remember the trees being so heavy with snow, and then the wind started and blew tons of it onto our patio.
My car is currently buried, so I will be spending the day at home until the clean-up is done. My drive to work is normally 45 mins to an hour one way, but in this weather, it could be upwards of two hours one way. I'm more than happy to stay home and get things done around the house before our big/little move in a few weeks.
How's the weather around your neck of the woods?
