Scrapping Our Stash blog hop *Christmas in July*

Friday, July 25, 2014

HELLO!!!  Welcome to my blog!  Today I'm participating in a blog hop with some amazingly talented ladies.  You should have arrived here from Cheryl's blog.  If this is your first stop and you want to hop along, you can start at the Practical Scrappers blog.

*Christmas in July!*

This month, we thought it would be fun to play along with the theme Christmas in July!  Seems kinda silly to me that I'm using words like "brrrr" and "chilly" in my projects when it's 85 degrees outside.  LUCKILY, my hubby likes to keep the AC super low so it was easy to channel the inner me that's freezing all the time.  (Yahhh!  Brrrrr!)

I've pretty much depleted my holiday stash over the years, and never replenished, so I didn't have much to work with.  I did have these kraft tags from Martha Stewart though that I still had never opened (seriously, have had these things at least TWO WINTERS!).  After I ran across this pin on Pinterest, I knew I wanted to make some pretty gift tags.

I filled these tags with lots of layering and some cutie cute stickers and die cuts I had leftover from other kits.  The little starry-eyed snowman above is from a collection by Moxxie.  I paired it with strips of paper by Dear Lizzy (for American Crafts).

Stamps are awesome because you can use them over and over again.  The "chilly" stamp above has gotten some good use so far!  Aren't those little skates cute too?  I'm pretty proud of myself for using purple since it's my least favorite color.

The "love" circle above is also a stamp, from Elle's Studio.  I "love" their stamps!  (hehe...see what I did there?!)  These little tags were awesome because I was able to use a lot of scraps.  The ribbon and the patterned paper are both scraps.  Look at those cute little sugar dots!

Penguins are my FAVORITE!  My whole family knows it and my sister just got me a big fat stuffed penguin for my birthday.  (He has yet to be named so if you have any ideas, CHIME IN!)  These penguin stickers were from Wal-Mart that I purchased several years ago, so I'm THRILLED that those are finally gone!

Of course I have to have some fun goodies to send to someone!!  They include some tags from American Crafts, vintage ric rac ribbon, and a brand new snowman stamp from Great Impressions.  I'm also going to through in a few Elle's Studio Christmas-themed tags (not pictured).  For a chance at the goods, you can do any of the following:
  • Follow kelsterjean designs on Bloglovin.
  • Follow kelsterjean designs on Facebook.
  • Become a follower via Google Friend Connect.
I'll choose a winner on Friday, August 1st.  (Open to international readers!)  Please make sure to leave a place for me to contact you if you are the winner!  Your next stop is Kristy's blog!  This is her first blog hop so make sure you show her some love.  (And can I tell you a secret?  SHE'S MY SISTER!)
