Hello dearies!  Happy Friday!!  I hope you enjoyed our last challenge, the Kill A Kit challenge.  We had four people link up their projects.  Thank you all for playing along!!!  The winner of the Kill A Kit challenge is Heather Adams.  Congrats!  Please email Heather at heather.sweet12@gmail.com and she will send you your $5 Two Peas gift card!!

For this week's project, we wanted to get into the holiday spirit!  Just about now, people start to send out holiday greetings filled with wishes of good times and fortune.  I love holiday cards and they are really one of my favorite reasons for the season.  So this week, we wanted to bring you ideas for handmade holiday cards!  I am sharing five cards (and two bonus tags!) and four different ideas for handmade cards.  Check it out!

Simple cards:  If you're one of those crafters that makes tons of holiday cards to send out, you want to keep the design simple.  This will make mass production a little bit easier!  The first card above was created using only: cardstock, die cuts, a scrap of paper, and stickers.  This is a great card to include with a present to someone!  Pull a few of your scraps and just play around with them to create this card.  The second card was created using only patterned paper, a stamp, color pencils, and one button candy.  Stamps are the perfect way to create simple cards.  Just color in the image and add some bling or button candy.  Ta da!

Window card:  My hubby actually inspired this card.  Last Valentine's Day, he created a window card for me from my scrapbook supplies (isn't he the sweetest?!)  I knew he would be so happy if I repeated this on one of my own cards, so I created this window card using frame die cuts from Moxxie's Party at the Pole collection.  I adhered the largest frame to the cardstock, adhered the second frame with pop dots and layered the third "frame" (the ornament) inside the card.  I used a cutting knife to cut out the square for the third frame.  Now that cute little ornament gets to be on the outside and the inside of the card!

Untraditional card:  My most favorite type of holiday card to create is Christmas cards using untraditional colors.  Most people thing of green and red when it comes to Christmas cards, but why does it have to be that way?  For this card, I used leftover scraps from my Citrus Twist September kit.  I adhered strips of patterned paper and washi tape, then stamped trees onto the strips, and added button candy.  I really really love this card and how it turned out!  Think about creating a card using untraditional colors!  They're so pretty!

New Years card:  We really can't forget that even though this is Christmas time, shortly after that, we start a new year.  I love New Years!  It's refreshing to start at a new year, full of possibility and resolutions and wonder.  Why not send someone a New Year card to celebrate this?  For this card, I also used scraps from my Citrus Twist September kit.  Just a few scraps, washi tape, a wood chip, alphabet stickers, button candy, twine, and a stamp complete this card.  And those glitter alphabet stickers?  Definitely worthy of ringing in a new year!

Bonus: holiday gift tags:  And since I was feeling so festive, here are two little tags I created using scraps from my Citrus Twist September kit.  Of course, they have the untradional colors that I love!  Both of the tags measure 2 1/2 inches each and I die cut them using my Slice.  I added three strips of washi tape, a wood chip flower, and a candy button.  These are easy peasy to make, but will look so pretty on any gift!

So there you have it!  I hope you found some inspiration in my projects and it inspires you to play along with our challenge!  Create a holiday-themed card and link it to either my blog or Heather's blog by December 20th.  We will choose a random winner to receive a $5 Two Peas gift card!  Thanks for playing along!  And make sure you stop by Heather's blog next to see her gorgeous cards!
