Hi dearies! Happy happy happy Thursday! I'm so excited to share with you the second project challenge with my dear friend Heather Sweet. Our first project challenge was to use watercolors. You can check it out: here. We only had one person link up to our challenge, my dear friend Mandi. She created three amazing cards using the ombre effect. Check out her amazing projects here, here, and here. Mandi will be the first winner of our RAK. Mandi, please email Heather at firstname.lastname@example.org to claim your prize.
This week, we thought it would be awesome to challenge you to create a project that is Halloween-related!! Both Heather and I love Halloween and Halloween-themed products. Any excuse to use googley eyes? I think yes! Super cute products? Check! Costumes? Ehhh, maybe. My hubby and I haven't dressed up in years, but that isn't going to stop me from making cute and spooky paper crafts to send out.
I've always loved mini cards! They're perfect to give to the girls at work with a little treat, don't take as much thought and time as larger cards, and anything mini is just plain cute. So for my Halloween-themed project, I created mini cards using an old BoBunny (Whooligans) collection. Cutesy is not normally my taste, but for some reason, when it comes to Halloween, it doesn't even matter. I loved this cute collection, and it's perfect for googley eyes!!!
- For the Lady Boo Boo card, I spray-misted a zig-zag template onto the background paper, then added a strip of arrow ribbon. I sanded the edges of the Lady Boo Boo card, added a googley eye, then adhered it all to the card. I popped up the card using pop dots for some extra ooomph.
- For the Rahh! card, I lightley pressed a stamp pad down onto the background paper. I tried to only use the corners of the stamp pad to create lines and corners across the card. I added a strip of purple-dotted ribbon, sanded the edges of the Rahh! card, and adhered it all to the card. I used pop dots once again to give that little green monster some extra attention.
- For the Boo! card, I used the zig-zag template again and spray misted it onto the background. I added a strip of black-and-white dotted ribbon, sanded the edges of the Boo! card, and popped it up.
Simple little cards but the perfect size to tie to a little treat and leave on a secretary's desk. I can't wait to give these little babies out!! Now hop on over to Heather's blog and check out her super sweet project she created. I'll give you a hint. It's handmade treat bags!! Okay, so maybe I'm no good at surprises....
Before you go though, here's the deets on this week's challenge: Since Halloween is only a week from today, we're leaving this challenge open for two weeks. So link up your projects in either my comments or Heather's comments by Wednesday, November 7th. The winner of the challenge will receive a $5 gift card to Two Peas in a Bucket, an online scrapbook store. So make sure you play along!
