Happy October! I will be saying this for weeks, but fall is one of my favorite seasons. I love Halloween (which I don't even know why because me and hubby never dress up) and I love everything about fall. This will be my first year designing for Practical Scrappers around the holidays and I am mega super excited! From this week forward, all of the projects I share for Practical Scrappers will be holiday or season-themed! Yeah! I'm so excited to create lots of great projects. Okay, now onto our card sketch for this month.
Here is our October sketch, created by the fabulous Patty. I really love the messiness of this sketch and you really can interpret it in any way! Our challenge is to create a fall or Halloween-themed card. Because I have been literally dying to pull out my jar of googly eyes, I created a Halloween card.
|Products used: cardstock, patterned paper (purple and Monsters): K&Company, ribbon and tree embellie: K&Company, brads (bats and circles): Making Memories; other: paint, googly eyes|
I loved the split canvas from the sketch, so I turned that onto it's side and added purple to the bottom half of my card. The top was too black for me, so I painted it with white watercolor paint, then added some splotches. The little monsters in the K&Company line are too die for. The collection is from a few years ago, but I still use every single piece I can. (My goal this fall/Halloween is to totally clean out my stash with projects so I can buy some new product next season). I finished the card off by applying lots of layers: the monsters, ribbon, the tree embellie, and brads. Ta da!!
Give the card sketch a try and make sure to share it on the Practical Scrappers Facebook page!
