Love This Girl (Ten Things: Border Punches)

Hello dearies!  It's Tuesday again and time for another edition of Ten Things with Practical Scrappers.  This week, we are featuring border punches!  I was excited about this project but also not excited because here's the thing: I only own one border punch.  Yep.  It's a Martha Stewart border punch.  And I'm pretty sure I only bought it because it was on clearance at Michael's.  Hey, at least I was prepared for this project!

Once upon a time I was one of those crazy scrapbookers that punched every piece of scrap they could get their hands on...(it was a not so pretty time my friends).  Now, however, the punch just sits in a box collecting dust.  How exciting that my design team forces me to use things!

Products used: patterned paper-Echo Park (diamond, viewfinder, girl word), Recollections (chevron), Pink Paisley (yellow striped), My Mind's Eye (banner), October Afternoon (yellow dots), Cloud 9 Designs (pink/brown dotted), border punch: Martha Stewart, alphabet stickers: Simple Stories, love die cut: Slice by Making Memories (wedding cartridge), green envelope: The Plaid Barn, journaling tag: American Crafts; other tags: Elle's Studio, "her" word sticker: Authentique; other: bling, twine, corner rounder.

I decided to use my border punch to create ruffled strips on my layout.  I've been wanting to try this for a while now and I'm pretty sure I'm on a I-hate-white-space kick right now because most of my recent projects have not contained a single inch of white space.  (Okay, maybe a little, but not nearly as much as before).  This was a great way to use scraps (although of course I used full sheets of 12x12 for this layout).  I cut each strip to 2x12 and then punched the border.  I adhered each strip exactly one inch apart.

This is definitely one of those layouts where I think "Holy crap.  I made that."  (I might choose some other not-so-PG-13 words that I won't share here on the blog).  I'm super dang proud of this layout and really am so overjoyed with how it turned out.  And of course, I had to feature my BFF-for-life Jessica Lynn on this pretty layout because  am so in love with her....(in weird ways and not.  Okay really just not.  But yes.)  Anyways, thanks for looking!

xoxo,
Kelster Jean
