It's almost Independence Day (a/k/a 4th of July) here in America! I myself am excited to have four days off of work and celebrate the birthday of this amazing country we live in. Practical Scrappers wanted to help you celebrate Independence Day by getting inspired by red, white, and blue, so here I am to share with you my contribution to the challenge.
I am in desperate need of some home decor items for this holiday, so I wanted to create a banner to hang. It came together really easily. All I did was die cut some banners (five regular triangles and two scalloped trianges), covered two with patterned paper, and covered the rest with photos, washi tape, and stickers. Then, I sewed it all together on red and blue-dotted ribbon. Ta da!!! Here are some close-ups of the banner.
I loved the two DCWV American flag patterned papers I used on the banner. The ribbon is from American Crafts and the washi tape is from The Plaid Barn. I really love the stickers I used on the banner, but cannot remember where they are from. (If you know, please share!).
I included a photo of me and my hubby on last year's Independence Day. We get Chinese food every year from the local China buffet (that totally shows our pride for America, right? Eating Chinese food?!) And of course, I need to include our two fuzzies who I am so proud to have. They are our pride and joy. I love living in America where we can be free to dream and live as we choose. This needed to be reflected in my banner and I think I accomplished that.
I wish you a very happy Independence Day and be safe! And hop on over to Practical Scrappers to check out more red, white, and blue inspiration!
