Think Spring card

It is finally starting to feel like Spring!  Well, some days.  This week, I enjoyed temps in the 50s and 60s, but last week, it was still very chilly!  30 degrees in March just doesn't feel right, but compared to last year, when it was 70 degrees in March, this March would feel quite cold.

I really needed a pick-me-up from the chilly blues last week, so what better way to pick up your mood than to craft about it?  So I decided to create a Spring card to look at when I'm feeling not so cheery.

Products used: cardstock: Hobby Lobby; patterned paper: My Mind's Eye (small flower scrap) and Dear Lizzy for American Crafts (fabric paper strips); 'Spring' die cut: Slice by Making Memories; flower stamp: Stampin' Up; scrap stash (not sure on the brands): flower sequin, flower button, and sticker paper strip; other: ink.
One of my favorite things lately to use on my projects lately is stamps.  I love stamps!  Rubber, acrylic, painted, spray misted, inked.  I love stamps!  I've also been (slowly) experimenting with my stamps.  One of the techniques I recently tried was creating this {faded} field of flowers.  It was easy to create this and I loved how it turned out.  I simply inked the flowers once and stamped, and then before reinking again, I stamped a few more times going left and right.  Then just repeat the process.  This will create a look of some flowers being in the foreground and some being in the background.

I haven't made my way into heat embossing yet, but hope to give that a try one day.  In the meantime, I really enjoyed this post by the rest of the P.S. design team because it gave me some great ideas to try with my stamps!  Do you experiment with stamps at all?  What's your fav stamp technique?  Please share!

I hope you have a great weekend!  Maybe I'll spend a bit of time outside this weekend in the nice (but windy) weather.

xoxo,
Kelster Jean

  2. Really neat card Kelly! Can't wait to meet you at the crop. You would love embossing and alcohol inks. They are super fun! And I've got the stuff, so I will bring it along.

  3. I also like that field of flowers that you stamped! I have not tried that. I havent experimented with stamps much but I do like the heat embossing. If you havent tried the heat embossing by time of the retreat, we can do that there.
