Storage Ideas with Practical Scrappers

Hello dearies!  Happy Friday!  I'm off today and Monday so we can finally move into our new home.  We've been moving stuff all week, but really need some all-day dedicated time to "finish the job."  So, in other words, I really should be packing and moving, and instead, I've spent several hours online making over my blog.

Maybe its the moving to a new apartment that has me in a mood to clean, organize, and remake over my entire blog.  Or maybe its because I get easily bored with how things look.  Either way, I decided to revamp the blog.  It's still a work in progress, but once I am finished, I will be sharing a post on how I created everything.  I am not an HTML person by any means, so I basically cheated my way around and found the simplest techniques I could understand.  More on that soon!

Before I disassembled my craft room, I was able to snap a few photos of storage solutions for the Storage Ideas post for Practical Scrappers.  Creating in a small space is always hard.  My space has grown quite a bit the last several years, but these two ideas I will use no matter how small or large the space is.

cafe bars.
One of the things I struggle with is having my products "hidden."  If they aren't in my line of sight, I easily forget about them.  (Think about the "out of sight, out of mind" phrase?  Yep, that's me!)  So, I had my hubby install these cafe bars in the craft room.  By using shower curtain hooks, I was able to ring several embellishment packages on one shower hook.  Since most embellishment packages already come with holes at the top, there was no need to add them.  Now, my embellishments hang organized and where I can see them and easily grab them!

In case you didn't know, I am a ribbon-aholic.  I have tons of tons of ribbons and trims and I love them all!  But, the scraps of ribbon can be a bit hard to store.  So, while perusing thrift stores, the hubby and I found this foam cylinder, which was perfect for my ribbon.  I used push pins to keep the ribbon in place, which went into the foam cylinder quite easily.

Two ideas that are pretty simple indeed!  Hope you can take a couple minutes to hop on over to Practical Scrappers and check out the rest of the storage ideas.

  3. Thank you! It doesn't look like that now that we moved, haha. I have so much work to do to get it pretty again, but these will be staples in my craft room.
